Asia

The ASIA research project is the result of a collaborative activity with the Region of Tuscany to build an information system supporting the Public Administration to investigate and combat the evasion of local taxes. To improve this activity the Region is developing a specific system called Tosca. The research activities of the WAFI group add to  the system some experimental features to improve and enrich the data collected by Tosca, using the internet to extract and analyze data pertinent to entities operating in the commerce or services fields.

The analysis of cross-consolidated data between the Public Adminstration and the the informations provided by the users through ads or post on social networks is currently an area of research without established technologies.

The didactic games have been modeled with participatory planning techniques, involving a psychologist and specialized teachers, favoring the correct execution of the exercises avoiding errors (errorless learning) and reinforcing children in positive behaviors. The games of the platform can be used freely and for free. However, if you register, you can customize the games (using your own images) and activate the performance data collection.

Clavius on the web

The Historical Archive of the Pontifical Gregorian University (APUG) has a cultural heritage that attest the intellectual activity of the Jesuits of the Roman College, from its foundation in 1551 to the suppression of the Society of Jesus in 1773. More than 5,000 codes attest the lessons of rhetoric, grammar, philosophy and theology, taught in the course of two centuries, in addition to the study of Greek and Latin classics, astronomy, mathematics and physics, and Latin languages, Hebrew, Greek and Arabic.

The main idea is to recreate some historical and geographical context, such as geographical maps and / or timelines. A key aspect is the possibility to enrich the initial content with links to other resources residing in other archives or in any case available on the Web according to the vision of the Web of Data.

SocialTechCare

The main purpose of the project is to create a service that allows people who live in isolated places to live more safely in their own homes. For this purpose sensors are used, connected to a local server and, through this, to a centralized server managed by special structures such as Municipalities, Public Assistance, Civil Protection, etc., which can thus intervene quickly in the event of anomalies.

Vita Nova

The Vita Nova project (funded by the Regione Toscana as part of the BANDO FAR-FAS 2014 program) designed and built an adaptive application prototype for pre-menopausal/menopausal women in order to reduce cardiovascular and metabolic risk. The application, available for mobile devices, provides support for the adoption of healthy habits and useful indications for symptom control, thus improving the quality of life and, in the medium to long term, the state of health of women. Vita Nova has a strong potential for replicability, as its adaptive service model can be applied to other chronic conditions or diseases or co-morbid situations.
